MISSION

Davidson County Amateur Radio Emergency Services exists to organize, develop and maintain a group of amateur radio operators who are skilled and trained to provide emergency communications support in Davidson County, Tennessee. DCARES provides a focused and rigorous approach to training, exercises and drills for the purpose of developing each member to their full potential.

WEEKLY NET

We conduct a weekly net on Monday nights at 7:00 p.m. on 147.015+ (optional tone 114.8). Our backup frequency is 146.670. Our simplex frequency for emergencies is 146.550.

  • Metro Emergency Alert & Notification System (MEANS)
    MEANS is a new public safety program that enables Metro to let you know what safety actions to take when there’s danger. When you register  and provide your contact information, MEANS enables us to provide you with critical information quickly in a variety of situations, such as criminal  activity and evacuations of buildings or neighborhoods.   • Metro Nashville – Davidson County CERT Program
    The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the skills learned throughout the training, individuals or groups can assist their community or workplace following an emergency event when professional responders are not immediately available to help.
